Who we are

WeOutOut is a Manchester-based food and drink deals aggregator operated by WeOutOut (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are responsible for the personal data we collect through the service and we aim to handle that data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect

  • Account data: Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your public Google profile name and picture.
  • Profile information: Details you choose to add to your account, such as your name and home area or address.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, deals viewed, filters applied, and approximate location (city level) to help us improve the service.
  • Communications: If you email us, we keep the correspondence to respond to you.
  • Cookie preferences: Whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies, stored locally on your device.

Why we collect it

Contract

To create and manage your account and provide access to deals.

Legitimate interest

To improve our deal-finding algorithms, fix bugs, and understand how WeOutOut is used.

Consent

To send you deal digest emails and marketing communications (only if you opt in).

Legal obligation

To comply with UK GDPR, ICO requirements, and HMRC record-keeping obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Supabase (EU region, London) — database and authentication hosting.
  • Vercel — website hosting and edge functions.
  • Google — if you use Sign in with Google, subject to Google's privacy policy.

All processors are bound by UK GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: For as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion to allow recovery.
  • Usage analytics: Aggregated and anonymised after 12 months.
  • Email communications: Up to 3 years.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
